The Sheriff's Office dispatchers receive over 1,500 calls per month ranging from general questions to reporting life-threatening emergencies on 911 and administrative lines. Dispatchers answer phones calls, entering information into ARMMS (Automated Records Management & Mapping System) and dispatch the call over the radio to the criminal patrol deputy. Besides answering calls from the public, the dispatchers have the responsibility of making sure the criminal patrol deputies are safe and of always knowing where the deputies are. The dispatchers contact the deputies on the road constantly asking if they need back-up units or specialized divisions such as investigators or crime scene technicians.
