On Thursday November 7th, 2013, Sheriff Willy Martin, Jr. honored all current St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies who are veterans. Each veteran was presented a special medal and ribbon bar that recognizes their service to our country. The medals are inscribed “Armed Forces of the United States ‘“ Honorable Service Commemorative’, and are designed to recognize all veterans of all branches of the United States of America. The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office currently has 19 veterans serving from all services branches: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Throughout the month of November, the veterans will be wearing their service ribbons. Thank you to our veterans who continue to serve St. James Parish.
