Body Found on US 61

On Thursday March 7, 2013 at approximately 10:00am, the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting the discovery of a body floating in the canal next to U. S. 61 north of the St. James Parish Boat Club.  Detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation and have recovered the body of a white male subject.  The St. James Parish Coroner has ordered an autopsy to be performed to determine the cause of death.  Detectives are continuing their investigation.  The identity of the victim has not been established at this time.
