On Monday, July23rd, 2012 at approximately 9:37am, the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that Pizza Hut in Gramercy, LA had just been robbed. The caller stated that a black male subject armed with a gun entered the store and demanded money.The Pizza Hut employees at the store were ordered by the suspect to move to the back of the store. Upon moving to the rear of the store, the employees were able to escape through the rear entrance and fled to a nearby store to contact the sheriff’s office.
The suspect robbed the store of the deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.Deputies from the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Gramercy Police Department arrived on scene at 9:39am and immediately set up a perimeter around the store.Pizza Hut employees informed arriving deputies that they did not observe the suspect leave the store and stated the gunman may still be inside.
After verifying no other employees were inside of the store, deputies made entrance and discovered the suspect had fled the scene prior to their arrival. Sheriff’s office detectives immediately began to conduct an extensive investigation.On Wednesday July 25th, 2012, arrest warrants were issued for four individuals in connection with the armed robbery of Pizza Hut. Ariel Tuircuit (B/F, DOB 05/19/1989, 298 Little Hope Street, Garyville, LA 70051) was charged with LA R.S. 14:64 armed robbery and LA R.S. 14:26 criminal conspiracy; Tyrone Tuircuit (B/M, DOB 03/17/1963, 298 Little Hope Street, Garyville, LA 70051) was charged with LA R.S. 14:64 armed robbery and LA R.S. 14:26 criminal conspiracy; Amanda D. Tuircuit (B/F, DOB 7/12/1958, 298 Little Hope Street, Garyville, LA 70051) was charged with LA R.S. 14:25.64 accessory after the fact for armed robbery; and Javan L. Brown (B/M, DOB 03/24/1991, 298 Little Hope Street, Garyville, LA 70051) was charged with LA R.S. 14:25.64 accessory after the fact for armed robbery.
All suspects were arrested on Wednesday July 25th, 2012 and are currently incarcerated at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail in Convent, LA awaiting bond.The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation regarding this incident.
