St. James Parish 6th District Justice of the Peace Eileen “CandyÌ¢‰âÂå Jasmin was indicted on March 6th, 2013 by a St. James Parish Grand Jury.  The indictment is the result of an investigation conducted by the Louisiana State Police and the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office.  The investigation began when a complaint was filed about a garnishment Eileen Jasmin handled in her capacity as a Justice of the Peace.  The grand jury indicted Eileen Jasmin for LA R.S. 14:134 Malfeasance in office (1 count); LA R.S. 14:67 Theft (1 count); and LA R.S. 14:71 Issuing worthless checks (1 count).  Eileen Jasmin was arrested at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office jail on March 8th, 2013.  Bond was set by the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc in the amount of $30,000.00.  After posting bond, Eileen Jasmin was released pending prosecution.
