On October 23rd, 2014, the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Brent Joseph Louque, Jr. (W/M, DOB 08/25/1975) for LA R.S. 15:542.1.4 Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. The Sheriff’s Office issued mail out notifications to inform the public residing near Alcee Street in Paulina, LA, that a registered sex offender was living in their neighborhood. In addition to the mail outs, Brent Louque, Jr. is required by law to publish his address in the official news journal of the parish. The publication, which appeared in the News Examiner on October 16th and 23rd, 2014, stated his current address and that he was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile on September 13th, 1999. After the publication, the Sheriff’s Office learned that Brent Louque, Jr. had falsified his registration. The address in which he provided at the time of his registration was not the address where he was living, which was actually in Ascension Parish. Upon discovering Brent Louque, Jr. had falsified his registration, the Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest. Brent Louque, Jr. is currently incarcerated at the St. James Parish Jail in Convent, LA. Judge Jessie LeBlanc has set bond at $25,000.00.
