On November 13th, 2016 at approximately 1:46 am, a shooting took place in the parking lot of the Good Children Hall in Vacherie, LA. Upon investigating the shooting, deputies discovered two individuals had been shot and were taken to St. James Hospital in Lutcher, LA prior to an ambulance being dispatched to the scene. Detectives went to St. James Hospital and identified the victims as being: Jarrell Jones (28 years old) from St. James, LA and Jeremy Antoine Smith (25 years old) also from St. James, LA. Jarrell Jones was transferred by Air Med to University Hospital in New Orleans where he succumbed to his wounds and died. Jeremy Smith was transferred by ground to University Hospital in New Orleans and is currently in stable condition. Both individuals were sitting in a vehicle after visiting the L&M Bar and were preparing to leave when they were shot. They were parked in the parking lot of the Good Children Hall which is next to the bar.
